Mobile Solutions : VOIP
A very much used but little understood term. Voice over Internet Protocol is a way of compressing voice into data packets and using a data mechanism to transport the call to an end destination.
VoIP can be used in a building, between buildings using a private data network or across the internet for free or reduced price calls. It has been included in the mobile section as in theory it can help to remove the restrictions of locality in much the same way as NGN numbers, but by using the internet calls can be free.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is a term widely associated and linked to VoIP and allows even more flexibility in call routing. It also allows the creation of SIP trunk lines that are delivered over the internet, and whilst it is not a complete and resilient replacement it is pushing the traditional analogue and digital line connectivity of voice communications.
Our team have a long history of delivering VoIP solutions dating as far back as 1998; well before it became a established offering.
